About me
I was born in the United States, I grew up in Egypt, having Armenian and Lebanese parents, and I am settled in Milan, Italy. This multicultural background has gifted me with a sense of openness about my identity, but it has also made a sense of belonging difficult to find, where I couldn’t call ‘home’ any specific place or origin.
I searched for this sense of home. This became one of my driving forces behind my curiosity and explorations about the meanings of life. Since childhood, my passion for soccer brought me the immense joy of feeling very much in touch with my body. I felt free to express my being, to experience flow, playfulness and connection with myself and the others. While growing up, I embarked on a professional path as expected from the family and the society I was in. I graduated from Mechanical Engineering, and worked in that field for some years, but I grew inside a feeling of malaise about not following my nature and truth.
Beside sport, art was the other refuge where I could reconnect with myself, nurturing my quest into feelings and meanings. I moved to New York where I have studied cinema, and later to Milan, where I have also studied photography. Along my journey into consciousness, I explored different healing practices, until I finally landed on breath, which has transformed my life. It has awakened in me a gate where I could access the innate intelligence of myself, where the being can speak of its authentic nature.
I fell in love with the magic and healing power of breath, so simple and yet so taken for granted. I delved into the wide world of breathwork and experimented with different kinds of practices. At first, I approached the study of pranayama, until I have experienced the deep therapeutic benefits of Transformational Breath. I have integrated this practice with the latest studies on the nervous system given by the Polyvagal Theory, which allows us a broader understanding of how our mind-body unity works together, adapts itself to perceptions and beliefs, and transforms itself when approached with respect for its innate pace and sensitivity.
Ultimately, my search for new knowledge and self-discovery, as always, continues on, with curiosity, gratitude and love for life, and my wish is to share that with you.
